Position Summary
Indiana University Bloomington, the flagship campus of Indiana University and a leading research-intensive institution, is
accepting applications for an outstanding faculty colleague, within its nationally recognized Education Policy & Law program. This will be a
full-time 12-month appointment in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Rank will be determined
by one’s qualifications and experience with an anticipated start date of 08/1/2025. The successful candidate will contribute to the
program’s undergraduate and graduate teaching and service activities and complement the faculty’s existing strengths.

Key
responsibilities of the position include:

• Teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate Education Policy & Law courses
  with a focus on PK-12 School Law courses such as A308: Legal & Ethical Issues in Education; A608: Legal & Ethical Perspectives in Education;
  A615: Advanced School Law; A675: Special Education Law & Leadership; and A710: Legal Research in Education. The courses are primarily taught
  online.- Mentor and advise undergraduate, certificate, master’s, doctoral, and law students, including coordinating the Education Law Certificate
  and serving on doctoral dissertation committees.- Participate in departmental and university service activities such as serving as the Martha McCarthy Education Law & Policy
  Institute Director.- Create an equitable and inclusive environment for learning (See School of Education Diversity Plan for
  more information).

Program Information

Based on IU’s national visibility, the quality and quantity of
education law offerings, and our successful alumni, IU offers one of the top Education Law programs in the country. The Education Policy &
Law program serves undergraduate, certificate, Master’s, doctoral, and law students through its undergraduate minor in Education Policy,
Education Law Certificate, PhD with a specialization in Educational Policy and Law, and partnership with Maurer School of Law. Program
faculty support the Martha McCarthy
Education Law & Policy Institute which provides virtual and in-person events.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum required qualifications:

• J.D. and/or Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies or a closely related field earned
  by start date.- Evidence of education law specialization (e.g., experience, scholarship, teaching)- Evidence of effective teaching,
  advising, and/or mentoring.

Preferred qualifications:

• Evidence of
  national, state, and/or district level engagement and outreach- Capacity to serve in multiple program leadership roles- Experience with
  alternative course delivery (e.g., online, hybrid)- Experience developing new initiatives, partnerships, courses and/or degrees- Experience
  teaching PK-12 education law and policy courses
