Position Summary:

The is integral to performing credential evaluations for incoming domestic and international students. This position manages the review of transcripts for all admitted students and awarding credit for accepted coursework. The position also serves as the primary contact with the Office of Global Engagement and International Admissions to consult, collaborate, and develop strong practices for this diverse population. They also provide support for the Office of the Registrar by assisting students, answering phones and emails, updating process and procedure manuals, and maintaining a high level of knowledge about the department.

Job Duties:

• Evaluates all international transcripts for admitted and continuing students. Consults with admissions on international applicants regarding materials needed for official review. 15%
• Responsible for data entry of credit for admitted students, performing evaluations, producing a Transfer Equivalency Report (TER), and notifying the student. 10%
• Oversees, prioritizes, and completes initial NCAA athlete evaluations, enters equivalencies into the library, and provides rapid responses to Associate Registrar and Athletics. 5%
• Manages Capital Normal University (CNU) visiting student evaluations, consults with CNU specialists to obtain course syllabi and materials for proper evaluation, and works alongside the Office of Global Engagement to provide information for student visas and enrollment. 10%
• Conducts evaluations of courses not in our transfer library, reaches out to faculty to confirm equivalencies, and updates student records with outcomes. 10%
• Collaborate with the Office of Global Engagement (OGE), Study Abroad, and International Admissions to create a student-first approach to international evaluations, assists in planning joint team meetings, and help develop process and joint communications. 20%
• Primary contact for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) and University Libraries (UL) regarding transfer evaluation and equivalencies, conducts a yearly review of transfer guidelines, maintains appropriate contact lists, and trains new faculty advisors on credential evaluation. 10%
• Maintains credential evaluation processes, procedure manuals, and communication templates and notifies the team of any changes. 5%
• Answers the main Registrar phone line and accepts calls about the transfer process. 5%
• Monitors the transfer evaluation email box, communicates effectively, and provides timely responses. 5%
• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team. 5%

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required (or degree completed within 1 year of hire)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

• Experience in higher education – 1-3 years preferred
• International education experience – 1-3 years preferred
• 3-5 years of administrative experience preferred

Abilities:

• Extreme attention to detail
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
