University’s Division of Audit is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Senior IT Auditor & Investigator
vacancy. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated audit professional to join our team and serve as Senior IT Auditor and Investigator
working at the Tallahassee, Florida main campus.
Responsibilities
IT Audits and Advisory
Services: Plans and conducts IT audits, including risk assessments, control evaluations, and audit testing; Provides technical assistance
and advisory services to departments across the university to enhance IT governance and security; and reviews and assesses IT systems,
applications, and processes to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Investigations – Computer Forensics: Leads
investigations involving IT-related fraud, data breaches, and other cyber incidents; Performs computer forensics analysis to collect,
preserve, and analyze digital evidence;and collaborates with legal, compliance, and other departments to ensure proper handling and
reporting of incidents.
Project Leadership – Computer Forensics Lab: Oversees the setup and development of the university’s computer
forensics lab; Develops and maintains procedures, manuals, and templates for the computer forensics lab to ensure consistency and compliance
with best practices; and provides training and guidance to staff on the use of forensics tools and methodologies.
Webmaster and IT
Audit Tools Management: Serves as the Division of Audit’s webmaster, managing the content and updates for the division’s website; and leads
the implementation and ongoing management of the Workiva platform or other IT audit tools, ensuring they meet the division’s needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assists in at least one non-IT audit or advisory engagement annually to provide a broader perspective on
the university’s operations; and collaborates with other audit and compliance staff to integrate IT audit findings into overall risk
management strategies.
Training and Awareness: Develops and delivers training sessions on IT security, audit best practices, and the
role of computer forensics within the university; Creates and hosts educational content, to promote IT security awareness across the
campus.
Division of Audit Expectations: Ensures compliance with the Division of Audit’s Expectation Model, aligning activities and
behavior with established standards and goals.
Minimum
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of related
experience; or master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience. Related professional audit
certification may be required.
Recommended
Competencies
Extensive knowledge of Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a
closely related field;
Deep understanding of IT auditing principles, computer forensics, and investigative processes, gained through
a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
Significant exposure to digital investigations and cybersecurity practices is
essential;
Proficient knowledge of digital forensics tools such as Encase, FTK, and IT audit software like Workiva;
Strong
technical skills In IT systems, cybersecurity, and digital forensics, with the ability to conduct thorough and accurate investigations;
Excellent analytical skills, with a proven ability to assess complex systems and identify vulnerabilities or irregularities;
Adapt
at solving problems that require meticulous attention to detail and careful consideration of evidence;
Strong communication skills,
both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Able to
interact effectively with diverse teams and clients;
High proficiency in using forensic tools (e.g., Encase, FTK) for digital
investigations and IT audit software (e.g., Workiva) for audit and compliance processes;
Ability to handle sensitive and complex
investigations with discretion, ensuring all findings are accurate, documented, and presented in a clear and professional manner;
Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the constantly evolving fields of IT and cybersecurity;
Capability to present findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to various audiences, including technical teams, management,
and external stakeholders; and,
A proactive approach to staying current with industry best practices and emerging trends in internal
auditing, and a commitment to implementing innovative audit techniques and tools to enhance audit effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional
certifications such as CISA, CISSP, Certified Internal Auditor or other appropriate professional certification is preferred.
Anticipated Salary Range
Salary Range
$80,000 to 95,000 commensurate with experience.

position.

Schedule
40 hours a week, including nights
