Job Summary

This is a non-tenure track faculty position, intended
for an experienced legal practitioner who wishes to bring practical knowledge into the classroom and contribute to the academic community.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the next generation of legal professionals by bridging the gap between theory and
practice.

Scope

Ohio Northern University Law School invites applications for a Professor of
Practice position with a focus on Evidence, Trial Advocacy, and work with Trial Advocacy teams.

Principal
Responsibilities

Teaching:

• Teaching courses in Evidence and Trial Advocacy, focusing on
  the practical application of legal principles and trial skills.
• Designing and implementing courses that emphasize experiential
  learning, equipping students with the competencies needed for effective courtroom practice.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods,
  including case studies, mock trials, and other interactive approaches to engage students.

Trial Advocacy teams
duties:

• Coaching and mentoring the law school’s trial teams, providing guidance on trial strategy, presentation, and
  performance.
• Organizing and overseeing trial team practices, preparing students for regional and national trial
  competitions.
• Staying current with competitive trial advocacy trends and adjusting coaching strategies to maintain a competitive
  edge.

Advising and Mentorship:

• Serving as a resource for students interested in litigation and
  trial work, offering guidance on career paths in advocacy and related fields.

Professional Development and
Engagement:

• Collaborating with faculty, alumni, and professionals to provide students with networking opportunities
  and exposure to real world legal settings.
• Remaining active in the legal community, maintaining a network of professional contacts
  and staying informed about developments in trial advocacy.
• Participating in law school committees, attending faculty meetings, and
  contributing to law school initiatives, including community outreach and public service programs.

Required
Skills

• Significant experience in trial work, with demonstrated expertise in evidence and trial advocacy.
• Strong
  commitment to teaching and mentoring students in a law school setting.
• Prior experience coaching trial teams or a willingness to
  develop coaching skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire
  students.

Minimum Qualifications

A J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.

Candidates with
previous law school teaching experience, particularly in experiential or skills-based courses, as well as those with active bar membership,
are encouraged to apply.
