Christian Aid Mission seeks to establish a witness for Christ in every nation by assisting indigenous ministries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in some of the world’s most difficult mission fields, giving priority to ministries making disciples among unreached people groups. We assist nearly 300 indigenous ministries in eight regions of the world that share the gospel with more than 2,000 unreached people groups.

Position Overview
The Grant Writer will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing ministry plans by writing and submitting grant proposals and building relationships with foundations. Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications as well as administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to grant opportunities that support Christian Aid Mission’s ministry projects.
This is a part-time contracted position (up to 20 hours per week) and can be remote. Work supervised by the Director of Communications.
Scope of Work
- Research, identify, and contact new funding prospects that match Christian Aid Mission ministry priorities
- Work with staff and leadership to acquire information for new funding opportunities
- Write compelling letters of inquiry and/or complete online applications
- Submit high-quality full grant proposals according to foundation instructions
- Secure opportunities for the President/CEO of Christian Aid Mission to interface with foundation managers
- Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals
- Maintain primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking
- Produce follow-up reports for awarded grants in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain a master file that includes the dates of foundations contacted, grants submitted, and response from foundations, along with foundation contact information
- Regular meetings for accountability and strategy sessions.
Qualifications
- 3 years minimum experience of work in a foundation funding environment
- Previous experience should demonstrate a proven track record of securing new funding opportunities
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Word and basic knowledge of Excel
- Ability to quickly understand Christian Aid Mission’s projects and branding guidelines
- Ability to work effectively with time-sensitive deadlines and income goals
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes
