Organization: Section Surgical Research Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Provides expert leadership in the development and modification of complex, critical applications. Strategic lead to design, code, perform benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Implements complex development projects. Coaches development of staff. . TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES * Application Development (Expert): Is considered an expert in all application development tasks, including structured programming. Called upon to design and code programs for the most demanding and sensitive applications. Often consulted for reviewing programs to assure accuracy, completeness and integrity. * Applications System Analysis (Expert): Is considered an expert in conducting systems analysis tasks and structured systems analysis, if applicable. Called upon to perform systems analysis for the most demanding and sensitive mission-critical systems. Often consulted for reviewing systems analysis documents to assure accuracy, completeness and integrity. * Applications Development Standards and Procedures (Expert): Is a recognized expert and authority in applications development standards and procedures. Responsible for weighing the risk of developing an application within the total corporate architecture. Establishes standards for state-of-the-art products and mission-critical procedures which require the highest level of expertise and knowledge. Occupies the position which is the last internal resource for support or direction regarding changes in applications development standards and procedures. Demonstrates industry knowledge of applications development standards and procedures in area of expertise and may take a role in helping to establish new industry standards. * Applications System Design (Expert): Is considered an expert in conducting systems design tasks and structured systems design, if applicable. Called upon to design systems for the most demanding and sensitive mission-critical applications. Often consulted for reviewing systems designs to assure accuracy, completeness and integrity.
