About the Hotel – W Melbourne
W Melbourne is the rebel between the streets, sitting in the heart of the Melbourne CBD on the iconic Flinders Lane, the luxury hotel takes its design cues from Australia’s cultural capital and providing the back-lane entrance keys to what’s New/Next in the city. Extending the laneway culture inside, 294 bold rooms and suites peel back the layers and revel in the city’s history. Recently awarded for Best Meeting & Events Space by TAA VIC. With almost 830sqm of ultra-modern conference, meeting and event space at W Melbourne, it is the stage for spectacular events. Equipped with fully adaptable conference equipment, world-class audio-visual facilities and contemporary cocktails and cuisine from our expert in-house catering team. The GREAT ROOM is a 426sqm pillarless ballroom with an abundance of natural light and 4mx5m LED wall. What You Will Do
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Set tables according to event type and service standards.
- Answer questions on menu selections.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, re-cook orders, and product availability.
- Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of order.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
- Complete opening & closing duties, including restocking items and turning off lights.
- Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payments.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
- Communicate with clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Support the team to reach common goals.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other team members.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
