In compliance with SB 1162, Western
University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire
salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to
job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects
the base salary only.

Job
Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of IT, the Director, Enterprise Applications & Databases is one
of the key members of the Information Technology Leadership Team (ITLT) and is responsible for the overall support
and integration of the institutions enterprise applications and databases (EAD). Primary duties include functional
oversight of the departments enterprise applications and database portfolio, as well as data analytics and reporting. The Director also
leads major IT initiatives as assigned by the Senior Vice President/COO or the AVP of
IT.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be
able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable
accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Strong understanding of the functions of enterprise
applications, databases, and integrations. Working knowledge of and experience with the support of major educational ERPs within an Oracle
database environment. Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud environments. Experience leading IT projects and major IT
initiatives using the RACI model and SMART goals.
Strong understanding of both
incremental and zero-based budgeting models. Experience with developing, managing, and overseeing major departmental budget allocations and
spending. Ability to develop robust and comprehensive business cases for minor and major IT initiatives, including project definition,
benefits, risk, costs, solutions, timeline, impact, and outcomes.
Broad understanding of the data governance process and functions.
Experience in leading institutional efforts to consolidate information to eliminate duplication of data and ensure a primary source for each
data element Ability to develop robust and comprehensive business cases for minor and major IT initiatives, including project definition,
benefits, risk, costs, solutions, timeline, impact, and outcomes.
Broad experience with the development and presentation of
descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive data analytics in both report and graphic forms.
Strong understanding of the
importance of information security, compliance, and risk mitigation with regards to the institutions data. Experience with the
implementation of database security controls and measures to ensure appropriate access based on roles and responsibilities.
Proven
ability to facilitate and lead minor to major IT initiatives from conception to fulfillment using best-practice methodologies. Experience
with the development of formal business cases for IT initiatives.
Ability to lead cross-functional and inter-unit teams in a
collegial, collaborative, and proactive manner that results in a positive customer experience, builds and maintain high levels of
confidence, and ensures strong teamwork and success.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree from an accredited academic institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a
closely related field.
EXPERIENCE: A visionary, progressive and strategic thinker with 7+ years of
IT-related experience, the last three of which must have been as an IT leader preferably managing one or more major teams within an IT
operation in higher education.
