Job Summary

The Degree Audit Coordinator is the primary subject matter expert for the Degree Works system. Responsible for collaborating with the Academic Colleges, advisors, and IT for the continuing implementation and optimization of the Degree Works audit system and curriculum management system updates. The Degree Audit Coordinator also provides technical support to the Office of the Registrar, training to the campus community, and creation/generation of Argos reports. May also works with other departments and project team members to successfully support enhancements, upgrades, and patches. As a member of the Office of the Registrar, this position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the student records and providing a high standard of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary subject matter expert for Degree Works. As functional-technical lead, the Degree Audit and Curriculum System Specialist II is responsible for accurately programming (Scribe) the degree audit with university approved curriculum requirements for all undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Coordinates with academic faculty and staff for testing and sign off of all audit changes and provides consultation to departments/colleges to ensure accuracy of their individual audits.

• Collaborate with academic advisors, graduate program coordinators and IT for the continuing implementation and optimization of the Degree Works audit system and upcoming upgrades to the DW system; running and testing degree audits.
• Work collaboratively with Colleges to verify the curriculum accuracy of new scribe and validate older degree plans scribe.
• Assist with updating Degree Works and scribing for new catalog requirements. Work with the Academic Colleges to scribe academic and technical requirements into DW using the scribe tools and coding languages.
• Help create, update and maintain information on the Office of the Registrar’s website using Cascade.Also update information on JNET to ensure accuracy of data.
• Prepare training manuals and tutorials for students, advisors, faculty, and staff as appropriate. Conduct training sessions and act as first line of contact for support questions from faculty and staff.
• Analyze and troubleshoot system problems concerning degree audits. Review current processes that can include courses that count in program of study (CPoS), transfer equivalency self-service, and athletic eligibility, and evaluate and implement changes for improvement.
• Designs, generates, and maintains reports using Argos and other university approved reporting tools for operational decisions relating to the Office of the Registrar and/or the degree audit system.
• Creates and updates a standard operating procedures manual to ensure compliance and accurate student record maintenance and services.

• Serves as liaison between functional users and IT technical team.Will work with IT to test patches, upgrades to the systems and system configuration, report and resolve issues, implement and manage system security and disaster recovery planning.Participates in decision-making process regarding the development and maintenance of responsible systems.

Minimum Requirements

Education -Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience – Three years of related experience in IT.

Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving, client relations skills, requirement assessment and analysis, project management methodology, context and interrelationships, and the Information Technology Interface Library ITIL (ITIL).

Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience working in academic advising and/or curriculum design.
• Experience with Banner, Degree Works, and reporting software.
• Experience in HTML or working with content management systems.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Experience creating reports and working with complex databases.
• Experience with intermediate to advanced programming and/or scripting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgement.
