Job Summary
Reporting to the De Anza College Enrollment Services Division under the Office of
Evaluations and Degree Awards Department. The Graduation and Evaluation Coordinator will serve potential, new, continuing, and graduated
students as well as administrators, faculty, and staff at De Anza College. Examples of duties but not limited to will include maintaining
and updating De Anza’s degree auditing system, coordination rollout of new Baccalaureate programs, help implement automated degree awarding
process, and help implementing all new bills, rules and regulations form CA Chancellor’s Office pertaining to the Office of Evaluations and
Degree Awards. This position will require candidates to be confident with technology, comfortable responding to a high volume of inquiries
via email, phone, and in-person, and interested in learning and adapting to new and innovative processes to meet our students’ needs.
Lastly, this position will help oversee and coordinate the operations of the Office of Evaluations and Degree Awards including staff
coordination.
This position is scheduled to work on campus Monday through Friday with the possibility of working remotely one day a
week. During some events, may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends (advanced notice will be given.)
DEFINITION
Under general direction, coordinates and monitors the operations of the Evaluation Office; performs complex research and analysis
and reporting functions with college-wide and/or District-wide impact; trains staff on all aspects of assessment of transfer credits,
general education certifications, diplomas, certificates, prerequisite clearances, and related issues; manages degree audit system; ensures
compliance, reporting, and accountability in accordance with federal and state regulations and District policies and procedures; and
performs related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from
assigned managerial staff. Exercises technical and functional direction over and provides training to assigned staff.

This is a coordinator class responsible for independently coordinating one or more programs or offices. The
duties involved include the implementation of goals and objectives and oversight for reporting, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Positions work on tasks that are varied and complex, requiring the use of considerable discretion and independent judgment in performing
assigned work, or ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of an assigned program or operational area. Assignments are given with
general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver work products or services.
Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard
office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in
person and over the telephone. Standing in and walking between work areas is frequently required. Finger dexterity is needed to access,
enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification
frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to perform assigned duties, as well as push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file
information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 20 pounds with the use of proper
equipment. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals on a case-by-case basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to
hazardous physical substances.
