The Philosophy Department at
the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time Assistant Professor of Philosophy position in ethics.
This is a tenure track position.

Description of Responsibilities:
Area of Specialization: Ethics or Political Philosophy. Area of
Competence: Open.
The Assistant Professor of Philosophy will have a strong research trajectory in ethics, as well as relevant
teaching experience in applied ethics. The department prefers the candidate to have experience or interest in teaching ethics for
information technology and business ethics. In addition to these courses, the Assistant Professor may teach a variety of courses within the
department, including social and political philosophy, philosophy and feminism, and courses which serve to broaden the diversity of the
curriculum of our department (e.g., philosophy of race). The successful candidate would serve a leadership role in the recently established
Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major housed in the Philosophy Department. Normal semester teaching responsibilities will be one large
course and two smaller courses. Student advising, working with students on improving writing skills, and university service are also
expected.
