ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The College of Nursing is one of 14 colleges that comprise the

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will teach in undergraduate and/or graduate programs; may serve as
a liaison between the USF College of Nursing and designated clinical facilities, requiring some travel to clinical sites; mentor nursing
students; and engage in college, university, community, and professional service activities commensurate with the rank of Assistant
Professor. Faculty may be assigned to teach at any of the college’s three campuses: Tampa, St. Petersburg, and
Sarasota-Manatee.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching: Deliver face-to-face didactic, online, clinical, and lab
instruction for undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses. Engage in program and curriculum review, as well as clinical site and student
evaluation.
Scholarship/Service: Conduct scholarly activities, including publications and presentations, in accordance with
university criteria for appointment at the rank. Participate in college and university committees as appropriate. Contribute to community
and professional service activities in line with university criteria for appointment at the rank.
POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Possession of a PhD in Nursing, DNP, or the highest degree appropriate in
the field of specialization from an accredited institution, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, scholarship, and
service.
Eligibility to practice and maintain licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of Florida.
A demonstrated
record of scholarly achievement, including creative work, professional writing, or research in referred and other professional journals, and
recognition as an authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant
Professor.
PREFERRED:
Experience with technology-supported educational methods (online or blended
formats).
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners.
Experience teaching diverse
learners.
Current clinical practice experience.
Experience teaching in an academic baccalaureate program.
A broad range
of clinical knowledge and expertise across various settings or specialty areas (e.g., Medical-Surgical, ICU, Hospice, Obstetrics,
Pediatrics).
At least two years of relevant academic teaching experience in a clinical setting.
National certification in a
relevant specialty area (e.g., CMSRN, CNE, Community Health Nursing-BC, APRN-C).
