Position Description:
The University of Louisville School of Nursing is seeking two Board-Certified Family or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioners for full-time positions with time to be split between University of Louisville Campus Health Service (50%) and the School of Nursing (50%). Please apply to both positions. In addition to the APRN role, experience in nursing education and adult learning principles will be essential. Faculty for this position should expect to have clinical teaching assignments in acute and chronic adult health and/or public/community health nursing. Leadership skills in working with diverse groups is crucial as is the academic credibility to garner respect from colleagues. The individual must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills and abilities, be flexible and nimble, and follow through on matters related to faculty and student success.
The academic portion of the position will include clinical and/or didactic teaching responsibilities depending on the needs of the unit. This could include clinical instruction; developing, implementing, and evaluating learning activities; and participation in curriculum development and implementation. This will be a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
This practice portion provides the full scope of primary care services to students at the University of Louisville with an emphasis on the treatment of the young adult; however, adults of all ages may be seen. Clinical responsibilities will include:
