Position Title
Advancement Data & Business Intelligence Manager
Position Summary
The Advancement Data and Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for overseeing data operations, business intelligence, database, backup databases and reporting systems within the Division of Institutional Advancement. The role includes managing data integrity, report generation, CRM administration, and supporting data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics. This position ensures efficient data extraction, uploads, and provides insights through reports and dashboards that enhance institutional advancement strategies. This position will also partner with STS and software vendors to meet data and reporting needs accurately and efficiently and lead the division in all major data projects, including, but not limited to, database clean-up, updates, upgrades, and conversions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and Generate Reports: Design, generate, and maintain reports, lists, and dashboards using CRM Advance, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and other business intelligence tools.
- Data Management: Perform data uploads, extractions, and integrity checks from the CRM and associated systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Reporting Tools and Dashboards: Maintain and improve reporting tools, including custom dashboards and data visualizations that support decision-making across the division.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet various data needs, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure smooth operation of data processes.
- CRM Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for CRM Advance, overseeing user permissions, system configurations, and integrations with other software platforms.
- Business Intelligence and Analysis: Provide insightful data analyses, support predictive modeling, and offer recommendations based on data trends to support fundraising and operational initiatives.
- System Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of systems, ensuring timely software upgrades, managing user support, and addressing technical issues with minimal disruption to operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the advancement team’s data and operations needs.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or database management.
- Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Dynamics, Argos, and other reporting and/or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable data insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with fundraising CRM systems, preferably Ellucian CRM Advance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk, walk, hear, sit and use hands to operate the computer and other office equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to: reach with hands and arms, and lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
