Position Summary:
The Department of Biomedical Informatics Data Science at the School of Medicine is seeking a Data Information Coordinator to join Dr. Zechen Chong’s lab. This position plays a crucial role in supporting a dynamic data analysis team focused on genomic sequencing and data management. The successful candidate will contribute to the daily management of data-related activities, supporting cutting-edge research in bioinformatics. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with technical expertise and a passion for advancing biomedical research. The position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Under general supervision, conducts information research, collects data, interprets data in accordance with established procedure, performs routine analyses and prepares reports in prescribed format. Provides data management support, prepares case reports forms and verifies accuracy of data entry. Prepares events summaries using computer. Performs quality assurance checks. Data collection may include patient recruitment, attending clinics, testing and scoring and extraction from medical records and medical charts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Salary Range: $15.25 – $24.75
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Preferred:
Ideal candidates should possess strong technical skills in genomic sequencing data analysis, Linux command-line proficiency, algorithms development, and programming in Python or R. Soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication, are highly valued. While a Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related fields is preferred, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience will also be considered.
