The Engineering & Industrial Professions Department at the University of North
Alabama (http://www.una.edu/eip/) invites applications for a full-time,
tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to be the lead for the Manufacturing Engineering concentration (one of five
concentrations in the Bachelor of Engineering program) and related curricula and laboratories. This position will begin in Fall 2025. The
University of North Alabama is located in the vibrant Florence/Muscle Shoals region, which offers a moderate climate, numerous cultural
opportunities, and a high quality of life. The department is housed in the recently built 162,000 square foot Mitchell M. Burford Science
and Technology Building, with state-of-the-art office, classroom, and laboratory facilities.The North Alabama region is home to a large
economy of industrial and manufacturing operations as well as a wide variety of energy generation and transmission organizations. Therefore,
the successful candidate will have experience that is consistent with the ability to develop a Manufacturing Engineering curriculum in
support of regional industry and manufacturing needs. This position will also continue to explore new curricular possibilities in
engineering as the needs of the department and region evolve.
The successful candidate will be expected to: Develop engineering
curricula related to (but not limited to) manufacturing engineering; maintain and manage laboratories associated with the curricula; teach
program-related coursework; recruit, advise, and mentor students; participate in scholarly activity; be involved in service to the
university, college, department, and profession; and support the department’s current ABET-accreditation
processes.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum qualifications for this position include a PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or an
engineering field closely associated with manufacturing is required; engineering PhD must be from an institution that currently offers an
EAC-ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in the same major as the PhD; industry experience is required; professional licensure as a PE in
at least one US state is preferred; CMfgE certification is preferred; and MBA (or similar business degree) is preferred.

Official transcripts must be sent directly to HR from the issuing school via email or postal mail to be considered official. Transcripts
with a designation of “Issued to Student”, or with the student name listed as the recipient will not be considered official.
